San Juan Islands, Washington v1.0

“The San Juan Islands is the perfect place for you to visit on your next flight trip. Situated between the Haro and Rosario Straits between Vancouver Island and the United States Mainland, with Vancouver to the north and Seattle to the south, the San Juan Islands offer a unique mixture of flora & fauna – nature & culture. With its over 150 islands and reefs San Juan Islands is an ideal area to explore the breath-taking nature, the deep-rooted culture and the maritime cuisine – the surroundings offer plenty of adventures and experiences to fill week long stays. On clear days you can even see majestic Mt. Baker to the east. Fly into small tugged away airstrips or take your float plane to one of the thousand reefs or bays. Experience the full range of what nature has to offer. From a coastal environment comprising 480 miles of shoreline to mountain flying around peeks up to 2500 feet – San Juan Islands can offer it all!”

“Say farewell to worry and stress and say hello to the mellow islands vibe, a temperate year-round climate, and long, lazy hours of doing just what you want. So, relax—you’re on “island time” now!” – San Juan Islands Visitors Bureau

This scenery package is based on the San Juan Island package I’ve made for X-Plane 11.

It contains the following airports/airstrips:
-Allan Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-Burden Field (Rabbit Run) (61WA)
-Center Island Airstrip (78WA)
-Clam Harbor Airport (WA35)
-Crane Island Airstrip (KCKR)
-Crow Valley Airport (WA39)
-Cypress Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-Decatur Jones Airfield (WA18)
-Decatur Shores Airport (WN07)
-Deer Harbor Airport (Uncharted)
-Eliza Island Airstrip (WA93)
-Friday West Airport (1WA9)
-John’s Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-San Juan Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-San Juan Valley Airstrips (Uncharted)
-Shaw Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-Sinclair Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-Sinclair’s Secret Airstrip (Uncharted)
-Spieden Island Airstrip (Uncharted)
-Stuart Island West (2WA3)
-Waldron Island Airstrip (90WA)
-Wilding Farm Airport (6WA5)
-Windsock Airstrip (Uncharted)

Not included, but I may add them in a later expansion/update:

-All seaplane bases
-Blakely Island Airport (38WA)
-Friday Harbor (KFHR)
-Miller’s Field (Uncharted)
-Roche Harbor Airport (WA09)

None of these airports/airfields are paved, many are private & uncharted, some don’t have a windsock or any lighting and their length goes down to well around 1000 with a width down to 40-50 feet. Robust, light and/or high performance aircraft recomended.

All of the included airports/airstrips have been made from scratch.
I’ve added and tweaked missing details, terraformed the runways & surroundings,
added the appropriate frequencies, added lakes, ponds & vegetation for the entire area etc.

Not all airport/airfield names & designators may be the official/original ones.
If you have information about their real names and designators, please let me know!

Due to the amount of airports in close proximity of each other, their small size and the lack of usable object libraries,
the extent of added details has been kept rather light.

Installation:
Drop the individual airport/airstrip folders in your community package folder and you should be good to go!

If you find any problems, missing stuff or have more general feedback,
please let me know, so I can incorporate it in a future update.

If you like what I do, you can support me

Never expected, always welcome.

Enjoy!
