Cascade Locks State Airport (KCZK) v1.0.1
This scenery contains my rendition of the Cascade Locks State airport. I was flying here one day and realized that there’s no way those trees at the end of runway 24 are that tall… turns out they aren’t. So I decided I’d try my hand at renovating the airport to make it more like real life. It’s situated along the Columbia River, about 30 miles east of Portland, Oregon.
Notable Features
The offending trees at the departure end of runway 24 have been shortened as much as I can… I think it’s pretty close to reality, based on the precious little imagery and video footage I was able to scrounge up for this place.
I also added sections of the airport fence.
I moved the windsock inside the segmented circle instead of on the “taxiway” (more like a driveway that connects to the runway).
I added the little miniature baseball field(?) that appears to share a fence border with the airport.
I also aligned the taxiway and the runway with the game’s imagery. If you look closely at the stock airport, you will notice that the taxiway is cut off and misaligned. The runway is also a couple feet off the correct position. That really bothered me, so I fixed it.
That’s about it! I hope you enjoy it, it’s a pretty scenic little airport!
