EGPA Kirkwall Airport – Orkney – Upgrade v1.0
Landing in your face and slobbering all over you this time is EGPA Kirkwall on the Orkney Islands.
I started this ages ago but gave up because the land kept breaking. It seems to behave now but there might be the odd glitch.
Only been to Orkney once so far, but I was profoundly stirred as I pondered what the ancients were up to in the very spot I was twitching in. Scoffing mud and rutting presumably.
Usual drill. Replaced all the ground textures and many of the stock buildings. New ground markings.
Skell300 has done you the terminal and a superb job it is too.
There’s a new taxi system that gets rid of the unused third runway. Spaces 1 and 3 on the main apron have all the ground services even if that’s a bit extravagant. There’s also a parking spot inside a hangar to start in as well.
A couple of static aircraft models. Light all over. Some roads filled in. Lots of fencing.
One drag is that runway 14/32 seems to have lost its huge dip. This is a shame but I don’t dare mess with it in case it breaks again.
There’s still a bit more refining to do but if I do any more clicking in the near future my arm is going to go black and fall off so this will be returned to soon.
The second download from this page is a library of airport vehicles that Asobo have removed from the developer kit. I’ll be sticking them everywhere so there’s no point in adding them to each airport file. I’m still fiddling with it so it’s not officially launched but it has a deicer truck and snowplough in it at present. You’ll need that downloaded to see them here.
