New airfield & scenery for EGTI Tain Microlight Airstrip, Angus, Scotland, UK. Including RAF Tain Range control tower as POI.
A small Microlight airstrip on “Former RAF Tain Airbase”.
In Game Ident EGTI Tain Airfield.
Real scenery, however may now be dissused? Some elements maybe wrong?
Former RAF Tain/ Royal Navy Air station Tain.
Now MOD “Tain Air Weapons Range” – Has become one of the busiest ranges in the UK and for years has been used by various NATO members.
Tain continues to be used in this role, for strafing, as well as for inert and concrete bombs, rather than high explosive weapons.
Part of the runways still remain, as well as many of the buildings including the control tower, with the land now also being used for agriculture.
Modern Range observation tower can be seen 57°49’30.1″N 3°57’22.2″W 57.825027, -3.95617
This has been placed within scenery as PIO RAF Tain range control tower.
The Airfield & Scenery was not shown on the original msfs version.
All original msfs models etc used. No other downloads required.
One of my early “Scenery creation test airfields”, very basic & sparse but works. Now re-worked. Trees removed etc.
Installation – After unzipping, place the complete “sac-airport-egti-tain-airfield” folder
into your MSFS community folder.
