Windsock colours!

Many parts of the world do not have red and white striped windsocks, however this is all that is offered in the sim.
This mod will allow you to change the colour of your windsocks!Included is the backup of the original windsock texture, and a few different colours: white, red, yellow, orange, orange and white, orange with silver stripes and white damp stained. I have also increased the windsock animate distance to help you check the runway direction earlier.

Of course you can make any that you like, if you know some basic Photoshop, GIMP or other paint program that can save .dds textures. I have included my .PSD file for you to experiment with. Either simply play with the layers, or add a layer and design your own!

To install, just place as always into your community folder.

The one I’ve set in place for currently for this project is the white damp stained windsock.
To change the colour, once they’re in your community folder, simply copy the colour you want back to the TEXTURE folder of this mod.

eg:copy \Community\Windsock colours\SimObjects\Landmarks\Windsock\TEXTURE\\WINDSOCK_FABRIC_ALBEDO.PNG.DDSto \Community\Windsock colours\SimObjects\Landmarks\Windsock\TEXTURE\WINDSOCK_FABRIC_ALBEDO.PNG.DDSand then overwrite it when prompted and relaunch the flight. You only need to go back to the main menu to reload the sim textures.

Developers please if you wish to use these textures in your scenery projects, be mindful that just adding these textures to your scenery project will change all windsocks around the world at this time for your users.

You’ll need to ‘create’ a new windsock model for your project with the different colour for each. A credit would be appreciated!
