Wake Island Airfields history started with the Era of the Flying Boats on the Trans Pacific Routes. Pan American World Airways needed a Stopover and Refueling station enroute from the states to the Far East. Wake Island, as being “out there in the middle of nowhere” was the perfect spot, and a hotel was build too.
In December 1940 the construction of the Naval base and Airfield was started, but already a year later, the fierce battle of Wake Islands began, and the island was occupied by the Japanese, and it lasted to the end of WW2.
After the war, the station again played an important role for the cross Pacific flights, and served carriers as Pan Am, JAL, BOAC and many more.
Today PWAK live a quiert life with limited military activities and as a military logistic center for the region, and are manned by aprx. 100 servicemen.
The field serve still as an important EMM field for the Airliners passing high above the Island.

Note that due to SDK limitation it has not been possible to edit AI,taxiways & signs, so you will have to live with a lot of GA traffic and casualty placed fuel spot, untill improvements of the SDK makes it possible for an update.
The scenery is created with MSFS SDK and stock objects only, just unzip and drop the pwak folder in to your MSFS community folder.
