LVGZ – Yasser Arafat International Airport, Gaza v1.0

One for those Gazans with broken wings. This airport had a very short life indeed but I thought it would be fun to fly from.

For an object of national importance it’s quite amazing how little visual info there is about it. There is no photographic record I could find of the layout of the buildings, or the buildings, other than one 2008 satellite shot of the ruins so it’s partially made up and partially guessed. You do see the odd glimpse of a hangar on Youtube but Bill Clinton is usually in the way.

The terminal is the most, and pretty much only, photographed building but there’s no way of replicating it with SDK items so I just did a weird-looking lash up with some others.

This needs more refining, I gave up on my painted lines when they turned into Woody Woodpecker and the lightrows were breaking my save. I need to go back and add signage too and no doubt the taxiing is stuffed. I may also unearth some informative photos which requires a redesign. I’m hoping so.
